Manufacturing of bearing parts for bearingless motors (August 2007)
Advantages of using a bearingless motor
It is expected to be used as a drive device for the following environments and conditions
- Bearing lubrication and maintenance is time-consuming
- Lubricants are not available (e.g., at very low temperatures, in vacuum, in liquids, etc.)
- Staining from lubricants can be a problem
- Rocking motion can easily damage the bearings
- There is a need for shortening the length of the rotation axis.
